Wellness Warrior was founded in 2011 primarily as a naturopathic consultation organization, without a product line.  In the years following, it was clear that the adventurous spirit of Dr. Cooney was pushing the organization in a different direction and in 2015, Wellness Warrior's business plan was modified to support wilderness and post-disaster herbal medicine products and supported with subsequent training.

Our herbal medicines and essential oil products are created in small batches and used for first aid, primary and acute care, chronic care, international relief, and post-disaster situations. Our training incorporates our product line and is designed to be complementary or alternative to conventional pharmaceuticals in these austere environments. The opportunity for traditional and conventional medicine men and women to work in conjunction with each other to provide the best and most appropriate patient care is at the forefront of our interest.  We do not discourage emergency medical care or transport.

Wellness Warrior Education

Our educational programs are designed to train both civilian and emergency medical responders how to use basic tactics and natural products immediately following a disaster until definitive care can be provided.  In a wilderness or post-disaster situation, it may be hours to days and even weeks until higher care is possible.  In times like these, conventional medications may run out or become scarce. We also teach these concepts to the self-sustaining communities we are building.

Wellness Warrior Foundation

Wellness Warrior founded a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization providing international relief in 2015.  We provide herbal medicines as a primary source of healthcare for people living in remote areas where access to advanced healthcare is limited or not available.  This model also allows for individuals to financially profit from the sale of herbal medicines to their community, contributing to self-sustainability.

Wellness Warrior donates 5% of profits to Wellness Warrior Foundation to support self-sustaining projects around the globe.  Our first community project, called The Eden Project, is currently underway in Uganda, East Africa. We chose this community for a number of reasons, including the opportunity to purchase land and move 40 orphaned children into new homes that will be constructed.  Our vision includes the building of a school, herbal medicine clinic, outdoor kitchen, matron homes, and gardens that will fund the project long term, thus furthering self-sustainability.  We are working with a local university, ethnobotanists, and have connections with the state department which is helping to make this project more successful.  If you are interested in joining us, or contributing to this project's success, please contact us for more information.

Meet our Team

Wellness Warrior promotes clinical herbalism in a professional manner through education and development of products used in primary, remote/wilderness, and post-disaster environments.  We use herbal medicines along with wellness initiatives to promote global self-sustainability.

Wellness Warrior envisions the pastime use of herbal medicines, which have fallen to the wayside with the advent of western medicine, to reemerge as a primary source of medicine for primary, remote/wilderness and post-disaster environments.  We aspire to pass on the traditions of this age-old medicine to future generations so the art of healing through medicinal plants is not lost. Our global initiative uses the resources of Wellness Warrior Foundation, including tax-deductible contributions received, to establish self-sustaining communities worldwide.  These communities rely on the cultivation and use of herbal medicines as a primary source of income.

Thank you for supporting a small business whose primary concern is the safe and effective use of herbal medicines and essential oils.  Our organic and Ecocert essential oils are imported from all over the world then hand bottled in Colorado and North Carolina.  Ecocert is a certification body for sustainable development.  Some of our oils carry this certification, and are clearly marked on our website; we challenge you to experience these beautiful oils for yourself.

Our herbs are either USDA Organic or certified organic by Oregon Tilth. All our products are third-party certified for purity prior to Wellness Warrior taking possession of them.  In the occasion that an herb or essential oil is wildcrafted, organic certification might not be obtained.
